Recording Tips

Thank you for helping us highlight the workforce impact of Recovery Corps! Here are detailed instructions and tips for recording your video submission. In total, it should take no more than 15 minutes.

Setting Up to Record

  • Use your phone to record and shoot landscape (horizontal – like TV not vertical like TikTok or FaceTime)

  • Record in good lighting – try facing a window during the day or placing a bright light behind your phone/camera.

  • Frame the shot from your shoulders up and be mindful of what’s visible in the background

  • Record in a quiet place so your audio will be clear

  • Don’t worry about being perfect – have fun with it and feel free to try it more than once!

Recording Your Videos

Please answer the prompts and record as four separate video clips. See examples here.

  1. My name is (insert first name) and I served as a Recovery Navigator at (insert organization)

  2. Today I'm a (insert current job title) working at (insert organization)

  3. Tell us how your service prepared you for a career in recovery.

Then to wrap up, we need everyone to look at the camera and say the following:

4. Recovery Corps Works! Recovery Corps helped me launch my career.
