Become a Recovery Navigator

As a Recovery Navigator, you’ll support program participants in setting and achieving goals for employment, training, education and more.

For this position, we need caring people who understand and have experienced recovery. With that experience and the desire to make a difference, you could become our next Recovery Navigator!

Serve for one year and make a difference in the lives of individuals who are in recovery from substance use disorders. As a Recovery Navigator, you will deliver individually tailored support to people in recovery. You will assist program participants one-on-one and in group settings to set goals, overcome barriers to goal success, build recovery capital, and ultimately maintain progress in their recovery from substance use disorders.

  • Recovery Navigators are currently needed in Minnesota, Illinois, and Virginia.

    Lead individual and small group activities with program participants,

    Build your skills by participating in ongoing training and professional development

    Receive ongoing support from staff.

    Have the opportunity to work on requirements for Peer Recovery Support Specialist certification.

  • • Be 18 years or older

    • Have a high school diploma or its equivalent

    • Be a citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident alien of the United States

    • Have at least one year of uninterrupted recovery from a substance use disorder

    • Have served fewer than four terms with AmeriCorps

    • Positions that require driving will require a valid driver’s license and the ability to pass a driving record check. Some positions require access to a personal vehicle for transportation.

    • Experience with professional computer skills and confidence using computers. Comfort and experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), completing internet searches, and navigating resources online, completing data entry, using e-mail regularly including sending attachments, using databases and software, using videoconferencing software, and attending training online.
